Be-aware! What triggers tumor in Brain & Spine?

Brain and spine tumours never sprout overnight and they bring with them a host of complications. Here are a few things that could trigger tumours in the brain and spine:

• Radiation exposure.
A risk factor for brain tumour is exposure to radiation. This commonly comes from radiation therapies

• Family history.
Some cases of brain and spinal cancer run in families

• Dysfunctional immune system.
An impaired immune system could give rise to lymphomas of the brain or spinal cord. Lymphomas are cancers of lymphocytes, a type of cell of the immune system

• Exposure to chemicals in the environment.
Exposure to vinyl chloride (used in plastics manufacturing), petroleum products, and other chemicals has been suggested to increase risk in some studies.
