We may all know how essential fruits are for a healthy diet, but are we consciously making this food group a part of our daily intake? Fruits are our nutritional powerhouses that actively fight diseases and infections, while maintaining health. How much fruit you need daily depends on your age, sex, and level of physical activity, among other things. People with diabetes should watch out for fruits which are high in sugar.

For a normal healthy person with less than 30 minutes of physical activity each day, two cups of fruits are recommended (for women aged between 19 and 30, and men aged 19 and above). A cup and a half of fruit daily is recommended for women above 30 years. Those who get more physical activity in a day can eat more and still remain within the calorie intake. So get your regular dose of fruits and look forward to a healthy long life.
