the heart beats and rests. It is an ever-changing factor, which completely relies on the nature of activity you indulge in. However, ‘High Blood Pressure’ is a syndrome where your BP is greater than 130/80, and does not come down irrespective of your activity.

Some of the effects of high BP include:

  • Weakened arterial walls;
  • Build-up of fatty substance on the inner walls of the arteries;
  • Increase in arterial blood clots, clogging, bulging and bursting;
  • An exerted heart, which has to work harder to pump oxygenated blood.

The three chief reasons for women to develop high blood pressure include, obesity, post-menopause and a family history.
