Not really couture or the essence of a fashion show, but definitely a lot more enthusiasm and fun, is how one could describe the nurses’ fashion show at Wockhardt Hospitals, Bannergatta, here on Tuesday.

Wockhardt hoapitals was celebrating International Nurses Day. Beginning with the lighting of the lamp, the programme continued with an inaugural address by P. Davison, Centre Head, Wockhardt, Bannerghatta.

Mr. Davidson congratulated all the Nursing staff at Wockhardt Hospitals on the occasion. “This is the noblest profession in the world and not everyone can be a nurse. It requires a special,calling, and the ability to be sympathetic, empathetic and truly concerned for the sick,” he said.

The programme was peppered with other cultural events iin the form of songs and dances. Students from Wockhardt Institute of Nursing gave both classic and contemporary performances to much applause form the audience. Thirteen contestants took part in the competition. They represented the four different centres of Wockhardt Hospitals in the city – Rajajinagar, Nagarbhavi, Bannerghatta and Cunning-ham.

Most of the participants opted to wear Indian formals. The show had three rounds and finally, the judges chose Dipty Diana Fernandes from Wockhardt, Cunningham Road, as “Queen of Wockhardt” and Rizwan from Wockhardt, Bannerghatta, as “King of Wockhardt’.

A crowd of around 200 attended the function. They comprised mainly of nurses and other staff from the different
Wockhardt centres.
